The "Gold Standard" in Skin Resurfacing

The MiXto fractional CO2 laser procedure is performed in a single treatment with minimal patient downtime. During the procedure, a high-energy beam of laser light is used to smooth lines, wrinkles, and scars, remove darkened spots, and other irregularities, and tighten the skin. It also stimulates formation of new underlying collagen to continue improvement over time. With fractional laser treatments, only a fraction of the skin's surface is treated by the laser, leaving small "bridges" of untouched healthy skin. This technique makes the healing process much faster and enables you to get back to normal activities sooner.

Dr. Connelly performs the procedure in our office with a topical anesthetic cream. There is little pain associated with this procedure. Most patients say that it is similar to sunburn. With a gentle washing and moisturizing regimen, your photo treated skin will begin to flake and reform within 3 to 4 days. After 5 days most patients are able to wear makeup. After 7 days the skin returns to normal.

Our procedure involves placing patients on a mild, prophylactic antiviral starting the day of treatment. You may also be given mild pain medications, as well as some "anti itching" and swelling agents. Most patients enjoy 2 days at home, lubricating their skin and resting comfortably
