The "Gold Standard" in Skin Resurfacing

The MiXto fractional CO2 laser procedure is performed in a single treatment with minimal patient downtime. During the procedure, a high-energy beam of laser light is used to smooth lines, wrinkles, and scars, remove darkened spots, and other irregularities, and tighten the skin. It also stimulates formation of new underlying collagen to continue improvement over time. With fractional laser treatments, only a fraction of the skin's surface is treated by the laser, leaving small "bridges" of untouched healthy skin. This technique makes the healing process much faster and enables you to get back to normal activities sooner.

Dr. Connelly performs the procedure in our office with a topical anesthetic cream. There is little pain associated with this procedure. Most patients say that it is similar to sunburn. With a gentle washing and moisturizing regimen, your photo treated skin will begin to flake and reform within 3 to 4 days. After 5 days most patients are able to wear makeup. After 7 days the skin returns to normal.

Our procedure involves placing patients on a mild, prophylactic antiviral starting the day of treatment. You may also be given mild pain medications, as well as some "anti itching" and swelling agents. Most patients enjoy 2 days at home, lubricating their skin and resting comfortably

Get A Lift With Serdev Suture Suspension Technique

The Serdev Suture Suspension technique is used to lift loose skin or flabby soft tissue for areas of the face, breasts, and buttocks. This technique lifts the deep moveable tissue beneath the skin by anchoring it to non-moveable fibrous tissue resulting in a more natural and youthful appearance. Although the face, breast, and buttocks are the most popular areas for serdev suture, this technique is used on a variety of other places. See the examples below.

- Face lifts: Creates a younger and more natural appearance
- Forehead Lifts: sagging forehead skin
- Eyebrow lifts to open the eyes
- Cheek enhancement: cheeks fuller and higher
- Chin augmentation
- Nose tip refinement
- Nose angle refinement (wide nose: Make the base of the nose smaller.
- Ear refinement: Pull the ears closer to the head.
- Breast lifts: Lift the breast via a scar less puncture wound. This procedure is beneficial to women who often suffer from keloiding with traditional breast lifts.
- Buttocks lifts: Narrow the buttocks. Give the appearance of more volume and lift at the same time. Elongate the look of the legs.

Who are candidates for treatment?

Light and dark-skinned individuals can now safely and effectively benefit from therapy with the Syneron Laser. Patients with dark suntans or photosensitivity disorders, diabetes, bleeding disorders, or currently taking photosensitizing medications are not good candidates. How many treatments are required? The number of treatments necessary to resolve your vein problem depends on the size of the vein and your body's ability to heal. During your consultation, an approximate number of treatments will be recommended.

What Are Laser Hair Removal Treatments Like?

First, the area to be treated is cleansed and the hair is shaved. Without damaging the surrounding tissue, controlled pulses of light penetrate the skin and are absorbed by the hair follicles. The heat damages or destroys the potential for regrowth. After treatment the area is cleansed and a sunscreen is applied. Large areas such as backs, shoulders, abdomens, and legs can be treated quickly.

Facial areas such as the lip, chin, and beard can be treated in minutes.

Superficial Peel

A common question about a chemical peel procedure address the length of the healing process. Each patient will have their own recovery road due to the condition of their skin. The healing times vary depending upon the strength of the peel performed. There are three classifications of chemical peels; superficial, medium and deep peels.

We have discussed the deep peel on our blog and would like to highlight the superficial peel. This peel is designed to help smooth rough, dry skin, improve the texture of sun-damaged skin, and even out skin tone. The recovery is generally rapid, and usually consists of minor flaking. A series of treatments is generally recommended to obtain the desired result over a period of time. Typically there is no down time and with appropriate sun protection, you can resume regular activities immediately.

LipoSelection by VASER

The LipoSelection procedure uses ultrasound energy to break up and remove fat deposits from the body. Fatty tissue contains a large percentage of fat cells as well as blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. Ultrasound energy selectively breaks up and emulsifies fat, while leaving other tissue relatively intact. LipoSelection typically results in low to minimal pain and low incidences of bruising or prolonged swelling.*

LipoSelection by VASER is both efficient and precise. In fact, ultrasound energy is so precise and specific that the technology has been used to remove brain tumors and cataracts.

How it works.
During the LipoSelection procedure, small incisions are made in the area to be sculpted. Through these small incisions, a special saline solution is infused to numb the site, shrink blood vessels, and enhance emulsification. Emulsified fat is then readily removed with suction and massage.

We would like to encourage you to encourage you to check out the videos on our website about LipoSelection. Click here to watch!

Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing

Acne PicThe goal of laser skin resurfacing is simple: To replace damaged skin with new, fresh skin. Techniques for skin resurfacing have made enormous scientific advances in the last year, allowing almost everyone to achieve close to flawless complexions. Laser resurfacing allows for light, or moderate, or deep laser resurfacing. But, in addition to reforming the surface layers of the skin, the laser resurfacing also allows for deep penetration, collagen remodeling, making this treatment the most essential and effective for skin tightening, wrinkle removal and collagen stimulation.

The primary targets of laser skin resurfacing include:

* Fine lines and wrinkles of the face
* Loose eyelid skin
* Crows feet around the eyes
* Pucker marks ("Smokers' lines"...even if you never smoked) and frown lines
* Sun damage, brown spots and splotchy, uneven skin tone
* Scars...especially fabulous results with acne scars
* Loose skin around the neck and jowls
* In fact, patients may elect to have this treatment, not only on the face, but
chest, arms, hands, or any other body part.

Our laser resurfacing system, delivers thousands of tiny laser pulses in a pattern over the skin. Each pulse heats a column of tissue eliminating pigment discolorations at the surface and creating a zone of heating deep in the tissue. Unique to our laser , these zones of heating shrink collagen and tighten the skin immediately. This laser also offers the benefits of heating deeper layers of skin tissue, thereby stimulating collagen remodeling, which over time, tightens the skin further. Patients have reported experiencing continuing benefit from this procedure for up to 12 months afterwards.
